Petrified wood is the fossilized remains of trees or other terrestrial vegetation where the organic materials have been replaced with minerals.

Burmese Petrified Wood

After millions of years of petrification where the wood has been buried by sediment, the result is a beautiful looking stone. This petrified wood comes from the dense forests of Myanmar, where it is commonly used for carving ornamental gems and statues. We found a better use for this beautiful material; submerged in a rimless tank with live plants all around it.
