Hardscape and Composition
The hardscape is the clear centerpiece of this tank. The aquarist, Naadir Esmail, has used large, textured rocks—likely dragon stone—to create a dynamic, mountainous landscape. The rocks form a dramatic, sloping ridge that runs from the left to the right, creating a sense of depth and scale. The name "Dragon" is fitting, as the formation could be seen as a dragon's spine or body. This careful arrangement of the hardscape gives the entire scene a powerful, almost ancient feel.
Planting
The planting is excellent and perfectly complements the hardscape. The aquarist has used a variety of plants to create different textures and layers. A fine, carpet-like moss or small-leaf plant covers the rocks, making them look like ancient, moss-covered mountains. In the background, taller stem plants, including some with a reddish hue, provide a dense and colorful backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the green foreground. The plants are clearly healthy and well-maintained, which is a key indicator of a quality aquascape.
Fish
The choice of fish is spot-on and brings the title to life. The Tiger Barbs are the "Tigers" of the piece, their bold stripes and active nature making them a vibrant focal point. Their placement in the more open, central area of the tank draws the eye and highlights them as the inhabitants of this underwater realm. The smaller blue fish also add a nice splash of color and movement.
